Unit 5: Elements of Curriculum

 Reflection

According to Tyler, it is critical as part of a comprehensive theory of organization to demonstrate which curriculum elements will serve adequately as organizing elements. The proper coordination of curriculum elements would ensure the success of a curriculum. The four main components of curriculum are aims, goals, objectives, and learning outcomes. From this unit, I have learnt that these four elements function as a guiding principle for teachers while developing their lesson plan. Within those elements are the three domains which we need to bear in mind: cognitive, psychomotor and affective domain. We as a teacher must keep these things in mind while catering the needs of each student. We learnt about these three domains in first semester in our teaching pedagogy module while planning lessons for micro-teaching, however, I did not know that it’s part of curriculum elements.
